Getting Started
STEP 1
Right click and save our sample classes: Intro Class A and Intro Class B.
Note: Our Intro Classes are meant for widespread public consumption and are abbreviated.
STEP 2
Approach friends first via email with the idea of learning about wine. Send to those interested the document for Intro Class A. We suggest you start right off by holding this class, so set a date that works for all.
[For the Intro Classes some Coordinators host and absorb the costs themselves (cost ~$50 per class). Alternatively you may collect a few dollars from each participant as the syllabus suggests.]
Once the date for Class A is set, ask each to bring 3 wine glasses and their calendars to class (for scheduling Class B.)
STEP 3
Hold Class B. After 2 classes it will be evident who wants to journey through Wine Sisterhood with you.
FROM THERE
1) FORM groups of 4 or more. We suggest not exceeding 7-8 persons because it becomes difficult to coordinate scheduling and keep all focused in class.
2) DETERMINE who will act as the group "Coordinator(s)".
3) NAME your group(s) something fun. Some have referenced mythical Goddesses, others the name of their street or pet!
4) CALCULATE the per person tuition assessment.
Example: Level 1 tuition is $547 per group if paid by check(s). A group of 8, for example, would each contribute $68.37 and a group of 6 would each contribute $91.16 toward this amount. While you may be tempted to take in as many "Sisters" as you can to lessen the pp cost of tuition, please don't turn yourselves inside out to do so. Invite as many persons whom you're open to sharing this journey with and let the chips fall where they may, whether that ends up being 5 of you or 9 of you.
Don't worry - whatever it is, because it will be the "right" number and mix.
LAST STEP
Register online. The Coordinator submits group details online including the name of the Sisterhood and number of participants.
Once approved the Coordinator submits payment. Once payment has been processed/approved class materials are shipped USPS and provided via email. Outside reading/research is not necessary, however once enrolled you will receive an outside reading list should any within your group wish to supplement the Agendas.
Contact Us with questions at any time. We want to help you succeed in your desire to learn about wine!
Additional Class Costs
Expect to pay ~$10-$20 pp per class based on a group of 6 for wine, cheese & accompaniments.
Optional "ISO" Wine Glasses
Our Clubhouse Store offers inexpensive quality tasting 'International Standards Organization" glasses. Bulk discounts apply. The diameter of the mouth of these glasses is narrower than most so the more subtle aromas are easier to detect. Professionals use these glasses when tasting wine to standardize the process. You may want to as well. Their short stems also make them dishwasher friendly.
